Operated by Sophie Pope and Lachlan Colwill, Omotenashi is a 10-seat, counter-style restaurant nestled inside the Lexus of Tasmania showroom, located within the Rox building on Elizabeth Street, Hobart.

We host dinner services each Friday, Saturday and Sunday, welcoming guests promptly at 6:30 PM, with the evening concluding around 9:30 PM. Each night we serve a fixed menu comprising approximately 15 items or courses, accompanied by tea and sake. Our menu and the dining experience as a whole are deeply rooted in a produce-driven philosophy, aiming to highlight what we believe are the finest Tasmanian products available throughout the year.

Sophie and Lachlan, both professionally trained chefs, interchange roles throughout the evening, engaging in cooking, serving, and narrating, with the goal of offering an experience focused on the produce served and the culinary techniques employed.

Due to the unique nature of our dining experience, we regret that we cannot accommodate significant dietary restrictions. However, we may be able to make minor adjustments on a case-by-case basis; for instance, we can cater to pescatarians and those on a low-gluten diet, but unfortunately, we cannot accommodate vegetarians, vegans, individuals with celiac disease.

For groups of 8 to 10 people, it is possible to book the entire restaurant privately from Friday’s, Saturday’s Sunday’s. During these private bookings, we also permit BYO. For more information on group reservations, please contact us via email at info@omotenashihobart.com

The price for dinner, including tea and sake, is $300 per person.

The restaurant's address is 4/160 Elizabeth Street, Hobart, with the entrance accessible through the lane way shared with Lexus of Tasmania/Roxburgh House. Keep an eye out for the Omotenashi signage.
